My trip to Patagonia was fantastic. We lucked out for weather and did not pay outrageous prices for food in Torres del Paine as per on line comments. It was not possible to have my preferred itinerary with a group tour. My wife and I wanted to stay in each location for a few days and had specific destination we wanted to see. Agencia de Viajes provided the air transportation out of Buenos Aires, personal drivers and lodgings needed for my personally defied itinerary. This included Moreno Glacier, Chaltén and Torres del Paine. The logistics were too complicated, on my own, one line. The hotels gave us upgrades, on a two occasions, from our basic rooms to suite style. This may be the economy. However, I felt that the hotels treated us better than independent, on line bookings or group tours, because the hotels wanted to keep the travel agents clients happy to encourage future business.
